I enjoyed the game quite a bit, very fun and well made. I don't appreciate the AI voice 'acting' though.

Is there a way to melt the ice? Also, where is this axe I've heard mentioned?

edit: failed to notice the walkthrough video on the right sorry

I really enjoyed this game. It felt like I was playing one of MrDrNose's games just because of some of the models and how it was spooky at times. I also like the references that were in this (such as Googie and Maxwell the cat). If it weren't for Vinny, I wouldn't have known about this game (as well as the others). All in all, great game.

Also here's a little meme I made (I found him really silly):

very cool game, it would be nice if u could actually pick the chapter or something so u dont have to go through all the levels again, i wouldve still be playing, but got 2/3 endings just a chapter thing would be awesome

I can't grab the bucket duck and my axe disappeared :(

This was a weirdly wonderful game with many references of old and new along with some very unexpected events. I still got to complete some achievements but that was one heck of a elevator ride.

Loved this game. Has a mix of references and had me look into some of them. Anything with surrealism, humor and horror has my eyes glued to the screen. I hope you keep making these kinda games. It's definitely like a mix of The Elevator Source, Stanley Parable and Title Pending. I'd say give this a spin if you haven't.

Great game. I was a little on the fence about it at first because of how it presents itself, but it turns out this is a real labor of love.

I thought I went through it pretty comprehensively, but five hours later I still seem to have missed a bunch of stuff. Time to go through another run and see how much I can get this time!

I do have one question: are you supposed to be able to do anything with the bucket duck? I got it up from the well but I can’t interact with it.

I decided to give the walkthrough video a careful look and… you’re just supposed to be able to pick it up? Is there some sort of prerequisite I might be missing? Or is this a bug?

Update: okay, I have learned now that the white dot does not appear on some objects for me. It’s happening with the broom closet key as well. Maybe it’s because I’m playing it through Proton on a Steam Deck, though I’d find it odd if that makes me unable to pick up some arbitrary items. I’m going to play around and see if I can’t get this to work.

It seems to have been a bug bug! After playing through again from the start, I can pick up both items now. I’m not entirely sure what caused the issue - maybe loading a save on the same floor does it? I have no clue.

I really loved it. It almost felt like the game was pulling from my favorites list, from Googie to Time for Crab. I just have a question, does the Flappy Bee achievement literally require 100? That's how far you got in the walkthrough video, but I hope it's just a joke lol. I have 16 and I don't have the patience to do 100.

i played it guud game

The VHS player doesn't seem to work for me.

Played this game a couple weeks ago and it was so much fun! I enjoyed it a lot and found it to be very entertaining! I only got half of achievements but can't wait to touch back on it to find them all, at least I found all my ducks! Was fun love the references and the jokes were funny. Really well laid out design and never felt like a choir to find the secrets, for the ones I found. Didn't run into any bugs. Love that you pushed more on the elevator source style and had worlds that were interactable. Really did love exploring it, and hope to see more in the future!

Running into an issue the game either stays frozen on the dev credits on bootup or a closeup of the elevator wall if I load an old save. Other than that I really really love the game so far and am looking forward to finishing it once the issue is fixed

What operating system are you on? Did it start happening after anything in particular or was it just random? To me it sounds like there's something going wrong when loading the game settings.

If you're on Windows, try going to AppData\LocalLow\frogmakesgames\A Very Ordinary Elevator Simulator and delete settings.save (and controls.save if it's there). If that doesn't work, try deleting the whole A Very Ordinary Elevator Simulator folder in AppData\LocalLow\frogmakesgames (you can back up your save files before doing this if you want, just put all the saveslot files somewhere safe). Also definitely try reinstalling the game if you haven't already.

Had a blast playing this after watching Vinny Vinesauce play it. Have both endings and missing only a couple of achievements, but REALLY would love to know how to get that third secret ending.

I can give you a hint if you want.

Good stuff, still missing like 7 achievements (I must have missed a duck somewhere) but I'll figure them out eventually I guess.

just finished my first playthrough and this was a blast!

Are you supposed to lose that 'duck rolling' part? Because if it's actually beatable, it needs some work on controls and/or collisions. Other than that, pretty rich experience so far. Bill Ciph... I mean, Triangle boy is cute.

It's very doable, I managed it in 4. It's tricky, but you'll get the hang of it.

I was able to beat it with 3 seconds left. Though I did have trouble getting some ducks.

I also got it with 3 seconds left. Now I'm stuck on the Flappy Bee part... god help me.

So how's it going? I finished katamari, got 50 points in Flappy Bee and I don't think i'll be trying to improve on that. In both cases, game could only win from having slightly less ducks and bees.

incredible, played it after watching Vinny Vinesauce play it on stream and enjoyed it very much. The curious side of me wishes there was a guide (or at least hints) to the achievements, but part of the fun is the mystery of it all. If only I could find something sharp to cut that tape....

There actually is a full video guide on the itch page :) I updated the thumbnail to make it a bit more obvious since it was easy to miss before

Thank you! Yeah, I saw the video but assumed it was an ad/preview for the game. Thanks for making it more recognizable, can't wait to see what cool stuff I missed :)
